Optimized Modulation Scheme for Four-Leg Quasi Z-Source Inverter: Reducing Power Loss and Improving Output Quality

This study introduces a new three-dimensional space vector modulation technique for four-leg quasi Z-source inverter (4L-qZSI) integrating qZSN and two-level inverter. The proposed method encompasses three variants, namely 3DZSVM2, 3DZSVM4, 3DZSVM8, designed to enhance steady-state operations harmonic distortions 4L-qZSI. One of the main contributions this research is establishment amalgamates benefits SVMs in both abc αβγ coordinates. design processes 3DZSVM algorithm are carried out newly ρστ coordinates, while diagram (SVD) 4L-qZSI utilized location. applied single sector, optimizing time interval calculations pulse creation without requiring trigonometric functions. Extensive simulation studies were conducted validate performance introduced scheme results show excellent benefit over conventional with zero sequences (CZPWM), including power loss reduction 50% decrease THD output voltage. In addition, applying enhanced current quality, reduced by 40%, decreased inductive ripple under unbalanced load conditions.
